Funding and Rebates
For Hearing Care

Medicare

-
For adults, Medicare provides a rebate of up to $54.28 for a hearing assessment and impedance testing. A doctor's referral letter is necessary.

-
For children, Medicare also offers a rebate of up to $54.28 for a hearing assessment and impedance testing. A doctor’s referral letter is necessary.
Pensioners and Veterans
Pensioners and Veterans may be eligible for fully subsidised hearing services through the Australian Government Hearing Services Program. This involves annual hearing reviews and a comprehensive hearing assessment every 5 years.
If hearing aids are recommended, the program provides access to fully subsidized devices. For those who prefer more advanced technology with additional features, there is an option to make a co-payment towards premium hearing aids.

Private Health Insurance
Private Health Insurance can help with the costs of obtaining hearing aids.
Depending on your extras cover, your health insurance may contribute to the cost of hearing aids. We recommend reaching out to your health fund to confirm the extent of coverage for hearing devices and related services.
Work Cover
If you currently work in a noisy environment or have previously done so and have a noised-induced hearing loss exceeding 10%, you may be eligible to file a claim with Workcover. If your claim is approved, you could qualify for fully subsidized hearing aids and may also be entitled to financial compensation.
Our Audiologist is a contracted Victorian Worksafe hearing provider.
